Leadership capabilities survey

Did anyone else get an email about how you currently feel about your leadership capabilities and development at MetLife? How is this information going to be used?

@flbg+1qRW8Hbd I have seen this time and time again at MetLife, where the employees with the most racked up complaints against them, are in fact further rewarded and promoted. It is an ugly and toxic culture, riddled with mind games.

Great that you are asking here.
I KNOW that a similar company wide survey was only sent to a single employee (oracle do admin) and she took the bait.
That’s when our project got told to use a nosql database because oracle was too expensive.
Oh, the manager she told all about got promoted.

I know first hand that these survey's are NOT anonymous per se. Be careful what you put in the free text, you can be easily identified if you use similar language in meetings or emails. Also, pay attention to how many people could/should respond to your "manager", if you only have 3 peers, then it really won't be much of a mystery who gave what rating or made what comment.

Their reason for the survey might be to learn more about the surveyee (YOU) rather than learn about the "leadership".

Be careful how you respond.

Hmmmmmmm...why would it not impact the ratings?

There should be some verbiage about how your responses won't impact your manager's performance review or rating, so basically it's a farce aka money waster.

Good question.
No idea how it will be used.
