Now there have been numerous external projects that all seem to affect us.. but still.. the amount of bureaucracy that we have to go through just to get a server built and released is beyond ridiculous....

BAE could have plenty of capacity on their VMAS if they rationalised their legacy estate by shutting down all the machines which haven't been used in 6 months or adopted elastic compute technology. They have servers running with hundreds of gig of disk space just to move a file from one place to another as they cannot get their own approval to share.
@6quo+1qQqF0wN That exaplins all. We went though all the process to get servers approved, only to get them rejected. It's like they don't want the project done. Go back and redo the paperwork!!! We know deep down they want the new supplier to build it and are just stalling for time now...
Dont forget BAE VMAS ran out of capacity and nobody told the client because they didnt want to pay for new host infra
Just stick them on those dodgy amplicon boxes and hope for the best...
@1fzk+1qQqF0wN getting server built isn’t the problem , it’s creating NRaF’s, Firewall rules and monitoring configuration. It’s been over a year and the outsourced team I was on can’t even get that done.
I concur, just passed 2 years for a server build project. Lack of knowledgeable resources and ridiculous processes.
Who needs severs when you can waste the entire project budget on paperwork alone.
Probably you did not use platform-x to build the server.
If you call 1800 pformx - with couple of button pushes - you will get the server built and all tools installed.
