Instead of addressing the questions regarding PTO directly and professionally, he talked about a fictional scenario that my apply to 2% of USAA employees max. Stop dreaming if you thing Bob "HR Bro" Whittle is the answer to USAA's massive problems.

The comment about a highly decorated board might have been true in the past. Unfortunately only about 3 were military in the current one. Explains why the mission vaporized though.
The new CHRO is interim. He is not the first non-qualified person to sit in the CHRO role. It is now a written procedure, because regulators required it since USAA was hiring a lot of lackeys, they have to have 25 years HR experience. He was brought in to USAA to ease the tensions between a civilian CEO and our highly decorated Board. He will move on once the replacement is hired and hopefully it will be someone good. In the meantime, he is never going to directly respond as he doesn’t know what the heck he is talking about. I am sure he is given lots and lots of talking points.
I don’t understand. What was the fictional scenario?
No one worry about Bob. He is only the interim CHRO continuing Wayne’s evil bidding against the non EMG employees. Wayne is currently searching for a permanent replacement for Oscar the Grouch’s former co-worker. No doubt it will be someone just as bad and ready to be highly rewarded for doing the Peacock’s dirty work.
Bob the Builder he ain't. More like Bob the BallScrubber (for Wayne). When the replacement makes Tamla look like Joe Robles, you know things are circling the har-clogged drain.
CHRO Bro has seemingly been brought on to someday replace Wayne
Meet the new CHRO, same as the old CHRO.
The only thing sillier than being disappointed that the new CHRO is a Wayne lackey who will continually gaslight us and improve nothing is being surprised that the new CHRO is a Wayne lackey who will continuously gaslight us and improve nothing.
get over it and move on.
Our ED announced a few weeks back she was leaving, her last day is Friday, then she’ll be on PTO to use up whatever time is being lent to her. When she announced it, she said the main reason was she didn’t feel right forcing people back into office while she was remote (Utah), we were shocked at her honesty, but very thankful for it. And her replacement will probably be someone who is a Wayne diehard and will try to timehop back to 2019 to try and get that precovid vibe back. Love how they say we need to innovate and change with the times with our systems and products, but for workplace satisfaction, nah, we don’t need to evolve there, we need to take massive steps back.
My director is leaving, he hasn’t formally announced it, but today in our team meeting, he told us that he has applied and interviewed externally since December, and is now just waiting on his offer letter. My guess, is he’s buying time for the bonus payout then will dip to his new gig. He has been very vocal against RTO and how the company lied to many employees about staying remote.
Yup and that toxic bro attitude just keeps coming. Heard it today from an ED who was talking to us about RTO and literally said I know Wayne said talk to your manager. You’re doing four days. Stop asking me. Not the culture I signed up for. It breaks my heart. I never witnessed the absolute death of a culture and morale like this. Just wow
