My boss told me this afternoon the enterprise is seeing too many exceeds expectations in reviews, and that they need to start rounding down more.
What could go wrong?

If more than 10% are getting 4 EE then the system is broken.
Either manager/supervisors need to be sacked for being too soft or we are measuring the wrong things.
I see so much poor and mediocre performance from people who are clueless yet believe they are walking on water....I have 3 who have resigned when confronted with the reality of thier ability.
I know in some groups it was up to 40% of the group getting 4 EEs. Seems high.
Can verify. If a team or even BU is giving out too many, “guidance” on ranking is provided. Had to break the news to my team last week. Still waiting to see the guidance. Feels like career ladders should already be doing this…
I don't believe the post. They clamp down on who gets what in your review. I admit it's more murky with this new system. This is how they determine eligibility for promotion and future jobs.
hahaha. All these posts about RTO and being in office equates to an EE in results. Pretty interesting when tangible results to the base business of a BU do not equate to a EE. Guess this just goes to show that focus and performance is based on the wrong things.
When supervisors starting giving others bigger raises to some and not all, they had to explain why the ones not getting the bigger raises also had so many exceeds. Has to match. People are too nice.
@1ytq Is that a true number? I see more then 10% showing up but that in my function.
Yeah those bad employees are the problem. Not the fact that management has had layoff after layoff, constant destructive changes and cut so deep with are to the bone. Its that people worked from home thats caused us issues!
@jxp only 10% of workforce showed up to office 3 days a week in 2023. Many bad apples had led to this forced RTO and badge tracking.
It is really sad to see this awful relationship between employee and employer.
Which is going to cause many that actually hit all the targets and went above and beyond get poor rankings. I’m sorry but after as many lay offs as we’ve went through and they kept their “top performers” each time what do they expect?
Some supervisors were handing out EE like candy on Halloween. Because if that they have been told to cut it back and straighten up. Just like RTO, a few bad apples ruin it for the whole lot
