Yes, it looks like they still have some remote roles. Just browse their job postings. Even at Cigna some of the newer roles in MA have been hired as WAH (as sh—-y as it is). I got from the FAQ page that they might be considering selling some MA buildings to HCSC but they’re obviously not that far along yet. If you’re by an existing MA office and are kept on as an “identified” employee you might still be hybrid. Just hang tight folks, we’ve been navigating these rumors for so long I think as they make decisions we won’t be going months at a time with no news (skeptically optimistic). If you’re in a state with no MA office or HCSC location, maybe you’ll stay on as remote, be forced to move, or get laid off. No telling where the cards will fall this early.

Direct quote from FAQ page

“Can I apply for other jobs in the Cigna group (health care or Evernorth) before close?”
“ currently we have placed a pause on all internal moves for employees of the Medicare businesses and care allies to other areas of business. “

“If I am identified to move with the business and don’t want to, am I able to stay with the Cigna group or will i receive severance?”
“No .HCSC is excited to welcome Medicare and care allies teams…. They identified roles will move to HCSC at the close of
The sale and will no longer be employed by the Cigna group. If you choose to leave your role you will not be eligible for severance”

If MA employees are identified as NOT moving over, then we should be allowed to post for other Cigna roles. If it is true that we are not, that is not right!

Do they offer remote work for their current employees? I’m only seeing offices in TX NM TN & IL

They said in town hall Medicare employees cannot work for commercial and they initiated a hiring freeze preventing applications or moving around

It’s almost sounding like any MA employees not “identified” to be a part of the sale could be in scope for layoffs, or reabsorbed into another Cigna role but I think we know the latter is not likely, especially that MA employees are not being allowed to move into commercial or esi. We're just sitting ducks.

If layoffs continue, I'm guessing that it means HCSC wants as many Cigna employees as possible gone before the sale goes through.

Not sure if anyone read the FAQ questions but it briefly mentions that not all positions are being brought over to HCSC and that no one will be moved within the Cigna network. Those who aren’t brought to HCSC Will receive severance.

YAY! I was looking for a change. Cigna has been a drag this past year and maybe HCSC will be better. I look forward to this.

However it shows us that David kept dodging our questions about this months ago this "rumor" was true.

OP here. Not sure about how this impacts Feb at all. I don’t know if that means any MA falls out of scope or if other areas would be hit harder. Wish I did.

How does this impact the end of Feb layoffs?

Does it change which areas of the business will be most impacted?
