Probably a fine guy, like most individuals that dedicate their life to claim management. He'll be paid very well, but all success will be attributed to pricing and underwriting as the P&L recovers. Claims gets the blame when profitability erodes, generally due to external factors like inflation this time around. G. Hill will declare victory, while Claim leadership has taken hits. Truth be told is that the Pricing group failed to conquer the inflation trends early, unlike Progressive that has dominated through this cycle through proactive, frequent rate adjustments.
