We are now required to document our goals, and there will be mid year, and year end reviews. From the email, it must be done before 2/16. Things are changing at Cigna for sure. It almost looks like some kind of PIP procedure put in place.

It is true that PIPs are a part of Cigna and most major organizations. That being said, i know with certainty the items listed as areas of improvement are being taken extremely serious. You may find yourself on a PIP if you’re in a role utilizing Verint. being a minute or two over break/lunch even if you’re within acceptable adherence and productivity is reason enough. It’s hard to say much because revealing too much may disclose the role/department but people at the bottom of the team (even when passing) are being put on PIPs without direction on how to improve.
This is not new. Posts like this that are blatantly wrong do nothing but fear monger.
I think this is coming back to bite them in the butt. Certain areas of Cigna do require it, but others do not. I was one of the ones that did not require it and like someone said earlier, you really want that documented to cover yourself. However, these layoffs are happening regardless and if you make good money, look out.
I completed this song and dance regardless of whether my manager required it. I came from an organization that required…then, unfortunately they an IT organization who flew by the seat of their pants, and didn’t require it. My thoughts were that if I moved out to another area, They didn’t want to show I’d missed something in WorkDay. So, I did my own thing and updated mid and end of year. I don’t know why it’s not been a company wide requirement to use WorkDay to its full potential. It does employees a huge disservice to not track these accomplishments, development opportunities and highlights. In hindsight, that’s really what some of these organizations DON’T want to do.
My goal is to not get laid off, Cigna
We have to enter goals every year.
This isn't anything new. For as long as I have been here, we've had to do this including mid and end of year reviews. However, HR keeps changing the "overall company goals" each year. We are forced to somehow re-word our personal goal to fit the company goal each year. It's kinda d-mb, but I am used to it. I wished they just stuck to the same process.
