Remember that one week of pay that we all got shorted on years ago masked under a "pay schedule update"? I don't know of anyone that ever got that missing week of pay that was promised to be made up.

They made this change in conjunction with an HR policy that allows them to terminate you when you try to give notice. That way they don’t overpay you at all. Big savings for them.
Why anyone stays at this place is beyond me.
Did they do another "band adjustment" and lower salaries?
A lot of clueless suits (because ... Allstate) here that don't realize that, for a significant portion of Americans who live paycheck to paycheck, unilaterally deciding to delay one week's pay created real hardship for a number of employees and their families.
Allstate does a lot of other shady underhanded things to sc--w you out of your pay. Such as manipulative pay bands, moving the goal lines in terms of performance ratings, and other aspects to keep you the employee from benefiting from this company and keeping raises and merits as low as possible. They do not need to do outright criminally chargeable and obvious things like stealing from your paychecks in order to keep your monies from you. This company is not that stupid. They just do it behind the scenes and in a quiet way.
4xwa….a lot of uneducated employees in here trying a new conspiracy theory. But that’s been the case for years
You never lost it. You just haven't earned it yet.
The only way you get back that lost week of pay is to quit or get RIF'd
I am an ex-employee who quit a little over a year ago. I got the extra week of pay on my final paycheck.
The insurance company I work for now, just did the same thing in December.
A lot of home office suits in here trying to damage control.
No, you weren't shorted. The company stopped paying you in advance for a week that you had not yet worked. That's not being shorted, that's paying you for work when you perform the work. If you feel that means that you were shorted, I'd bet that you were spending money that you had received, but not yet earned.
I get why they did it but OP is right. We were shorted a week's pay to make this work for the future.
This wasn't a stolen check. Before this correction was made, paychecks were being issued for the current week and the next week. Meaning if someone quit or retired during a pay week, they were also being paid for the next week as well.
After the correction, you were paid for the prior week and the current week - which is how it should have been occuring all along. Now if someone quits/resigns on a pay week, they aren't paid for time they haven't worked.
We got paid the extra week when we quit or were fired. It was moved to the end of the pay period. All companies do this.
Allstate takes money out of the collection plate at church. They say they're just making change, but they're not fooling anyone!
We are comparing paychecks to applause points?
Applause points is the equivalent to skee ball tickets. They were and are being given out for useless and common things.
Nobody is sad they cut the reward pool in half
The point here is be aware Allstate will try to save a million here a million there by slipping in tricks against employees. Even as something seemingly innocent as reducing applause points. Don’t defend these thugs and stay vigilant to their schemes
Let’s hope this guy did not survive the layoffs. But $10 says he’s E band or above.
