How does Danny Bishop and daddy survive?
As a former tech and longtime OSP engineer, I can attest that the network techs are a valuable asset to the company. The NT does a lot more than many think, and they will go above and beyond for us so long as they are treated with the respect they deserve.
For the one it was not from the Tech .........QA
Well said
I have never for one moment not taken what the field tech had to say, they are our eyes and ears and most of the time they built it and maintained it for many years
They may not be the most pleasant people to deal with at times, but they are a good tool to get the job done
They are needed use them
For someone that is not a field tech I can see he/she point of view . They work many hours and travel 3 to 4 hours to the point of trouble in all weather and at all hours.
They count on their NOCs for support they are out there on their own and count on that to get the job done
"if you are network tech we have no room for people like you
leave and make our jobs easier we dont need you"
Up yours.
if you are network tech we have no room for people like you
leave and make our jobs easier we dont need you
the ones on here saying your hurting the company
by working 2 jobs
you have no respect for the ones that are
i am sure that i have had the pleasure of working with you
ask your self
do you work a 70 hrs week
you like saying that your getting one over on windstream
you have no respect for yourself or others
the field waits for a config for a nid to get a tower for 2 days and you working 2 jobs to wait a shift out and do nothing and hand it off you sir have no respect for others if you did one job well you would not need 2 jobs you hurt everyone and only help youself
for the one that is working two jobs i am sure su-k at both
If you saw the cuts but kept working hard - thats on you. Read through the history - that has been the theme since the beginning. I work two jobs… well i work one and i fake the other. Guess which one? I worked 20 years with Windstream - theyve cut and hacked pay and privilege away to the point my salary barely makes the bills. So, im taking it back until they figure out i dont do anything at work. If they dont give you what youve earn, take it for yourself.
Thats rough the severance was slashed. But honestly - this was expected. Lastly, there will be no severance as the well drys up. Oh except the payments to corrupt tony will continue.
There isn’t anything more devastating then to be on the list of layoffs when you worked your tail off .. working OT, taking on additional responsibilities , watching folks not do a darn thing and not be on the list. I worked for this company starting with Alltel. I was laid off twice but got back in.. Finally retired after 21 years.
It ki-ls me to see what is happening to good hard workers.. Now they don’t offer severance?? Start looking now. Don’t think because you went over and above that it won’t happen to you. Good luck !!
Do like some of the third shifters did. Get another job and work that job while sitting on Windstream time. They won’t notice.
No Lump sum... was advised to file for unemployment and apply for (SUB) Supplemental Unemployment Benefits. Its a gap coverage to offset the percentage regular unemployment provides. Kind of a sh!tty way to treat people... Be warned the writing is on the wall for those still employed. Sunu's Hatchet is meant to cut and cut deep - bail out ASAP. Update your resume and actively apply.
Be happy. Show up for work and do nothing but build tour resume and connections. Accidentally break your pc.. you will have to wait for IT to fix it. Again use this time to work on your resume and watch netflix. Do the minimum to ensure you can collect whatever severance they offer. File for unemployment early. Windstream is one of the worst places you can work and has been for at least 5 years. No company cares about you more than they care about the bottom line
You owe nothing to them.
Most likely you’re an essential employee too
Look out for yourself. Find a job, and just walk out of this raging dumpster fire.
