Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Heard of any layoffs??!

As we are heading in to end of January, anyone heard anything about layoff all over the company in general and in engineering specifically?

Everything was accelerated this year relative to goals, individual development plans, and bonus and compensation. Why? To cull the herd. Use the goals and IDPs to determine who wants to commit to the company, pay them out early enough to cut jobs by the 2nd quarter, and use the money saved to meet the proposed OPEX reductions. As for those people who keep posting here that there are not going to be layoffs and to commit to the company, we know who you are and what you represent. You can’t hide your lies using an anonymous name. Next!

Mike implies more layoffs this year in the Q4 earnings call Q&A and his post-call interviews. The aggressive targets they set for 2024 won't be coming from sales growth alone. Buckle up.

CRTs are safe. Thank God my manager moved me to this position. Field technicians are going to be contracted out for half the price. My suggestion is to get into a new position, away from the field.

You should focus on improving your skills vs. giving advice.

Any time they tell you to update workday, your VPs and SLT are doing back room risk analysis on their teams. So while you’re updating your workday, make sure to also update your resume and get a head start on the job search. I’ve been looking since just before the notices went out in August of 2023 and 181 applications, 7 interviews later…I am still unemployed. Good luck to everyone.

Layoffs expected in the engineering regional team as west/central and south/northeast started merging. Another round of merge for markets expected in the coming months too. The fact that they made everyone update workday 3 months before the layoff last year makes me think layoff is coming sooner rather than later.

The value it adds for who? Seivert?

No way I’m committing to a “personal development goal” so my boss can PIP me for not doing a book report on my off time.

People on here talking about IDP and bonus plans as being a bad thing have no idea really what value it adds.. stop looking at the negative all the time in everything that you do and start thinking of everything that could go wrong when actually start giving a fu-k about your job again.. if your not happy just quit, to let those they need a job continue doing what they need to do..

I heard February as well. I’m sure right after bonus and stock…. Then they won’t have to pay bonus and accelerated vesting for this waive of layoffs
