Intel stopped announcing layoffs in large numbers after the 2016 debacle. It is bad press. Instead of walking thousands out the door in one large move they just continuously move small numbers. Kind of like a dripping faucet, seems innocuous but it really wastes a lot over time. See how the Q4 and 2023 earnings turn out.
