The usual cleaners at hq sitting on their hinies doing nothing . Must be nice . You all should get a cupcake for goalsharing .
I believe doing lines in TDSO is not authorized
here is the summary of the sites rules from my experience here:
dont threaten
dont swear
dont insult
dont bully
dont mention names (anon forum- names, initials not allowed)
think its ok to name execs as public figures. ok to trash their work abilities too. avoid personal insults, might get nuked.
All the good comments are gone. Must be Wendell didn’t appreciate the honestly.
Where did all the comments go ? There were close to 70 yesterday
If your typing your keyboard for an hr each day that manager needs to get canned. They make big bucks. I think they make somewhere between 120k to 200k. That's not chump change so that entail responsibility for the team. Im guessing your out in the Valley. There are thousands of engineers there so there is no way they can keep track of them all.
go easy with fux in nicks. would hate to see a good post get nuked just because of the poorly chosen nick. the site's moderated, and profanities and derog speech aren't allowed.
As an engineer at Corning I say there are way too many of us and middle managers. I tipity tap on my keyboard for an hr a day and that’s pretty much it even though almost all of my time is ‘booked’. So don’t blame the engineers! (Well not all of them), blame the directors and up for such a useless charge out system with no real oversight. I would actually love to work 8hrs a day and not be bored out of my mind.
How on gods green earth do these hr managers have talent manager attached to their names ? This company cuts everyone how do they hire new talent . More excessive leadership
Damn my thread has gotten some great participation lol

Thanks for the insight. You must feel very grateful to live in this country and work for an organization that pays $30/hour for a job that can be done more productively for $1/day by unskilled and uneducated people in undeveloped countries.
HEY REALITY CHECK . Here's a reality check for you . Third world countries pay their workforce about $1 a day . Union workers here make between $22-32 an hour . So greedy executives will go where there is a higher profit margin with lower costs
To Union workers everywhere:
If you are as important and valuable as you believe, why has every company in the developed world been sending your jobs to 3rd world sh-t holes for the last 30 years, with immense success?
If a person who can't read/write and sh--s in a hole can do your job (often better) -- you may want to re-evaluate the source of your problems and approach to a solution.

In true Cornu v fashion , they cut a bunch of employees . But will be having a dj at hq to celebrate WW and his cronies big goal sharing bonuses . Last year they had steak, lobster , champagne and a dj . Us union scrubs got a cupcake with a fu--ing $ on it .
I am just here to check comments to know new words and sentences..lol
No cuts at ASMS. Wonder why?
These comments are priceless... Just came for the comments, thank you all for not disappointing! LMFAO!
I am totally against giving any union members their group rate raises . More money for us to have djs at our corporate parties at hq
How rich this is. The union folks have paid their union dues like slaves for years and it still won’t save them from the layoffs coming. Dude got fired last year at SP for making stainless steel co-----e boards on company time in the trades shop and all his union trades buddy’s were so upset he got canned. Entitlement doesn’t even begin to describe it. Good riddance to most. There are a few good trades guys though
Hey Corning Alumni . Sadly this isn't the same Corning you dedicated your life too . Corporate greed has taken over this once family run company . I agree it's sad to see union and company fighting on here . We need to stick together and get through this United
I worked for Corning Inc for 41 years at many levels . I was salary, yes , so get the Union / Salary bullsh-t aside you id--ts. I worked with many salary and Union personnel, it made no difference to me . What I read on here makes me want to pu-e 🤮. All I see is spoiled , jealous or just pain ole a--hole comments . You are the reason for all this nonsense. I worked hard and had pride in my job and respect for the Company. We worked as a team regardless of stature.
Wishing the worst for people is all I see here a--hole comments and no sense of compassion. To the bullsh-t comments on here, get a life and be a human. Most people in the work force today don’t know what it means to work and show commitment, just spineless worms sh-----g all over people. I am very saddened to read all these childish and selfish comments. I was honored to work for Corning , it gave me the my life I have and I am forever grateful. I just can’t believe what I am reading here . WTF🙄
Seems to be a bit of a divide between union and salary. However, we can all at least agree based on these posts that both groups could use some grammar and spelling lessons.
I agree . Most of the supervisors could've supervise a pre kindergarten class . They have no idea of how any of the processes run . I also get a kick out of the salary people when Wendell makes a once every ten year appearance at one of the plants . They all run out trying to kiss his a-s . He doesn't give a sh-t about anyone but himself . Him and his cronies making millions yearly are his only concerns . He could give two sh--s about the bottom feeders . Unless they give him his lemonade at too high of a temperature
I work a technical salary position, and frankly see incompetence amongst both company and union alike. I grow tired of seeing the matriculation of young graduate degrees holders into technical positions when they can’t engineer their way out of a paper bag. It’s an epidemic. I see experiments plagued by useless people, and what’s more staggering is that they genuinely think they serve a purpose. It’s narcissistic delusion.
Now, let’s not forget to comment on the apathetic union workforce. We all know the majority of their direct supervision, company people, are wholly incapable of holding any of their teams accountable - let alone themselves! We cannot; however, give the union a pass for this reason. Too rigid is their understanding of what their direct job responsibilities are, and what they are not. To compound such behavior is a general laziness. Anecdotally, we all notice some of the cleaning staff brazenly lounging about. What purpose do they serve?
Good people on both company and union alike keep this company running. Sadly, we are losing the ability to differentiate between the wheat and the chaff.
Come on guys, we are facing a challenging time because of multiple reasons (mostly the top leaders) why blaming each other who are both in the bottom of food chain??
Erwin is being closed completely. Cook is going to China. Flora is going to Blacksburg. The museum is also being sold. Corning Incorporated is apparently not getting an extension of the perks it had to do business in the area. If you are not a solid 2010 service date, I'd be shopping for a job.
