United Healthcare Roster Managers Faced Burnout for Years and Now Rewarded with Layoffs in 2024

Burnout has been an ongoing issue for many workers at United Healthcare for years, but especially for Roster Managers who worked long hours in order to get the job done. The issue was addressed after a complaint to the Ethics Board, with flexible schedules and burnout resiliency courses. Now 50% of the Roster Managers are set to lose their jobs to overseas teams based in India and Ireland. The Health Insurance Industry needs a minders day Norma Ray to stand up for American jobs. The middle class is shrinking and with jobs going overseas especially after a pandemic and what might be a recession on the horizon is unethical. Maybe workers should call up to file an ethics complaint. The executives should freeze their wages and save the American jobs.

My team aren't RM's, but we're burned to a crisp. Just let go several of our team yesterday including me, with 15+ yrs in service. I see notices from all over the company.

One state required UHC to bring their Medicaid business back onshore.

The org will just say offshore is managed by at least one stateside. Many teams are structured so that bulk of the work are offshore and managed by U.S.

Precisely THIS!! Wholeheartedly agreed.
This has been something I too have thought about. But additionally, coming from network/contract spaces, there's verbiage written into many agreements for all types of provs/groups/facs that prohibit offshoring of their work. I'm curious how exactly UHC is getting away with it!?
