Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Big party in the Lumen Ivory Tower

Kate Johnson is doing an excellent job of role-playing Marie Antoinette telling us out in the field to just eat cake while they party it up in Colorado. I'm good with Kate Johnson's attitude and views on race and diversity. But none of this is making Lumen a more competitive company. Is that lady on the screen right now in the Town Hall meeting helping us take on our competitors? I feel like I'm watching The View. And to address the diversity focus, I can tell you from personal experience the company only does lip service to when it comes to disciplinary action for those who create a hostile work environment. Someone told me a joke that made fun of my ethnic heritage. The company only did a written warning to that individual.

So much for the Constitution! They don’t believe in free speech unless it benefits themselves!

Lumen is $19 billion in debt with an interest payment looming around the corner by 2025 which they cannot do debt service on. Kate has no real ideas of her own. She asks Beene Brown what to do and when that doesn’t work, they call Cheryl Sandburg of Facebook, when that doesn’t work, Cheryl Sandburg calls Sir Geoffrey Pattie in the UK, and when that doesn’t work, Sir Geoffrey Patti calls King Charles. Lumen answers to the Crown at the end of the day. Do you like 🍎?

They literally pretended to be Apple for a day ... bringing out the MC hypemaster with the bad jokes and drew carey vibes .... followed by the smooth talking SLT ... and so much disruption coming!!!

Then in the afternoon, they got DTL read with an afternoon therapy session and a lumen version of 'the view' with Brene, Kate and the folks who haven't acted since high school drama class.

Overall the even was well executed but who are we kidding here?!

Diversity is important. I'm old to enough to remember when companies didn't practice EEO. But none of this is helping make Lumen more competitive. Spending money on lavish parties, which is what this Town Hall is when we should be spending money on modernizing our network and migrating from 40-year-old technology, should be criminal.
