Many have now received their performance reviews from 2023 and a great number will be unhappy. Forced low scores are a result of a new model intended to reduce raises, bonuses, and provide rationale for layoffs this year. Three rounds with the first coming this quarter.

The phony pay grades are ridiculous. Why have pay grades if you cannot progress through them? Downright dishonest and sketchy behavior.

The last post makes a great point about this companies pay grades. They are quite simply misleading, dishonest and you could argue that you’re being lied to. If one has a salary grade of 120k to 150k, you’d assume that someone can reasonably attain 150k which isn’t the case. You are capped at 75% of the band. They say they’ll make exceptions to go over the 75% but it has to be approved by a regional VP first and your direct manager is never going to try to battle a senior VP to get you to the top of the phony pay band. Your manager is likely too busy worrying about themself. As leaders, we were given a talk path as to how to explain this to our employees. I have always refused to do it. There is nothing in the spirit of teamwork or transparency demonstrated by this company’s deceptive compensation structure.
Hey conspiracy theorist senior leader , no one is eligible for raises because your salary bands are lies. You cap increases at 75% of them. So you can say you offer a range but it’s not attainable. Have been freezing some for last 5 or 6 years. Cheapest company to employees you ki-l with work! Don’t even give cost of living increases. Pathetic.

Progressive IS Ki-ling it. Just gave employees the best Gainshare bonus in 3 years. I shudder to imagine Allstate buying Progressive since it is such a different corporate culture!

OP doesn't understand how raises are calculated. It's a flat percent overall that is divided among employees. It would not matter if they gave everyone bad reviews, the overall raise expense is the same, it just gets bell curved. Me thinks OP is just disgruntled about their rating.
Yep the trauma drama is over. It’s kick back time and wait for the ax to fall. India is ready to take over ALL of claims. We are expendable and we know it. There is no need to brainwash us anymore. We understand. Just give us our severance and let us go. India will do a fine job for all of you yacht and champagne folks. Celebrate and cut the USA adjusters loose. Get it over with so they don’t have to do a class action suit for unfair labor practices and hostile work environments and other touchy harassment claims.
I’m also a field tech and I work 2-3 hours a day and nap 2-3 hours a day so I’m pretty much feeling laid off already!!
I’ve been putting in maybe 3 hours most days since the video game layoff of 2020. Why bother. You can’t advance in the company or even get a sustainable wage. They’ve been ripping off their employees for years. No reason for me to do anything more than a bare bones minimum.
Auto tech here,,,, I have been doing the minimum since I made it past the last round of cuts around Thanksgiving 2020. I could care less what performance rating I get. I will continue to do the minimum, work my 4-5 hrs, enjoy the rest of the 420 day. Lay me off 1st, collect my severance and move on…. Happy New year ALL…
Yep, 2024 is Claims' time to fully "Transform". Our leadership group has been pretty open regarding many roles being vendored out soon like the service areas or moved to India like the tech and support areas. I and most of my peers are fully expecting to be let go sometime in 2024, just unknown is when and in what phase. As long as we get severance and this company doesn't try to do anything shady with unemployment benefits I think we have all pretty much accepted our eventual fates in a positive manner. Many are actually hoping it happens sooner rather than later. I for one plan to take 2-3 months off between the severance and unemployment to get over the mental strain of dealing with this company before refreshing my career elsewhere. We all will be okay and will end up in a better place.
The only layoffs will be in claims and it’s only 85% of employees so 15% will be safe which is good
I think the phases of layoffs in 2024 have been all but confirmed well before now. This is not some sort of "breaking news".
I must say that working for this company has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. To all who are reading these negative posts, please take them with a grain of salt. If you’re looking to join the Allstate team, we would be thrilled to have you!
