I haven’t heard much of CDW in the last 5 years. Thought they were irrelevant in the consulting world these days, did they miss the boat on the last wave of technology and cloud etc..? Is this the fate of all resellers?

I would say CDW is far from irrelevant. They used to have some of the best engineers in the market (at least in Chicago). I think they have struggled (like alot of companies) to maintain their engineering standards though.
The ironic part about asking if CDW is still around means that you are the one "not around." Pathetic trolling considering CDW is #166 on the Fortune 500 with $24B in net sales.
They are the largest technology reseller in North America.
