Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Chevron Delays Kazakh Future Growth Project Start-Up... AGAIN

Never ceases to amaze me that ALL delays on ALL MCPs were 'unplanned';
and I thought Australia was bad.

EB removed just before prior delay announcement, no doubt they knew that delay was just the first bit of bad news.

Now it's 2025 - what's the over/under on 2026 ?

No problem - bod will anoint EB next CEO, congratulations !!!

@2mjw There is absolutely no reason for anyone in HR to get higher than PSG 24.
NONE.

Probably not a bad idea to delay any additional future investments into Kazakhstan for forceable future. Our exports are going thought the black sea and Ukrainians are blowing up russian processing and export infrastructure one by one almost every night. Just a matter of time before the Black Sea export facilities are getting hit.

Then our management will realize how d-mb it was to put so many eggs into Kazakhstan basket.

That is the hi-pot strategy. Leave failing projects before they fail and blame the incoming person. Even in HR they realize most 26+ managers never completed a single project before moving on. No more 18-24 month roles (or that's the expectation). "It was on track when I left, XYZ person let it slip away".

The true top performers are the ones that take over for them and manage to turn them into successes.

PRC maybe dead, the project function maybe dead....some of the folks that made those organizations so corrupt and ineffective are still around and have the same attitude...only I can be right ignore any other view....oh and yes they are finding nice valuable jobs or contracts for thier friends. Titles may change but the attitudes don't...

It's all OK. Not to worry. The CIP will be 0.1 and all will be well.

@xxu+1qDlxAxH, do not speak of what you do not know. PRC is dead, the project function is dead and MW is finding his way to keep the company afloat with minimum number of MCPs.
Remember it takes 2 to tango… FGP leader was not transparent in his forecast, but execs were too happy not to know or ask questions until as late as possible.
A sad state of our company really…

Chevron and its management count on employees and Wall St. poor memory. Everyone will 'forget' that EB was in charge of FGP leading to all these cost overruns and delays.

Going to be really difficult to recover $45bil in 8 years.

Oil prices will be higher by the time we start so the overall NPV could be higher.

This is the outcome of looking after your friends, putting clueless people in vital positions.
Typical chevron mcp behaviour, the good old prc network is alive and well, sorry shareholder's its just the way we are....
