Will this be on a large scale like the fall 2023 rounds?

“Just wondering...if you get let go this far into 2024, would you still get your bonus from last year?”
Yes
If you are laid off any time between Dec 1,2023 and bonus day (some time in March), you will receive your 2023 bonus.
I have no knowledge of future layoffs but the 02/29 date makes sense. Give those affected one month of pay with no work until severance hits. Looks like the 29th is also a week before the next pay day.
And then let them all go at the end of quarter 1 2024.
You might want to check the calendar again.

Leaders have been force ranking their teams and did it again recently, in every part of the org.
If you even minutely feel that you may be impacted, start looking now and get a jump on it so you’re prepared a month in advance.
You really wonder how many people they can get rid of and still function...I've seen whole teams let go over the last year, and I'm wondering how the work is even getting done.
just read that post as well. Looks like they acknowledge that they already rely on contractors from India (assuming TCS and accenture). I agree that layoffs could be coming to replace some US talent, but I don't think it's going to be wide scale. There has to be a balance, they cant have all resources strictly on India timezone.
agreed, don't see why you're getting downvoted. Not like you said anything negative.
A person with access reasoned that 60% could be a part of this.
I was told a long list of risks. There concern about BRICS and India's integration with Russia and China. EU data regulations and any exposure in India even aggregate data real harm could be caused. There is no plan to off set the new risks emerging risks -- none. These new groups will be doing algorithms that require data. Even masked data is way to senstive. Could have impacts with the brokers, future sales, member retention, and more oversight. Cigna a healthcare company. 16 years ago was considered a risk to Cigna's market value.
“Nicole Eder made internal post that will have impact to consumers and USA workers.”
They want 1099 workers and don’t care if they have zero understanding of US healthcare.

Nicole Eder made internal post that will have impact to consumers and USA workers.
"This month, we are opening a site in Galway, Ireland, which is focused on product development for Evernorth. Later this spring, we will open a site in Hyderabad, India will hire the key skills in process improvement and automation, analytics, and software engineering."
INplace are NDA as to hide the details and outcomes. USA Layoffs are plaaned for USA Citizenss and greencard holders in USA. Layoff US work and hire new overseas work. India joining BRICs raise internal concerns.
Anyone have any idea of orgs/areas? Speculation of how many employees?
Just watch.

2/29 is the day.
2/22 is on a pay week.
I also don't understand the post of mocking the 1/18. I was one of those let go after 20+ years. While it may have been a smaller amount as compared to other past dates, it's still happening and impacting lives.
we got Cigna earnings coming up on 2/2.. should be interesting to see

couldve swore they said after february is when they do rolling layoffs, not in between past ones and february
For the people who were laid off, what dept were you ? And what was the reason for your layoff ?
There were a lot of people laid off yesterday. Just because it wasn’t in your org, doesn’t mean that it’s not happening.
Earlier posts said that between the larger Oct - Nov - Feb layoffs, smaller ones will occur every Thursdays (non-paycheck week). Notice periods and the end of benefits can vary by individual and level.
Guidance given here has been pretty spot on but it would be helpful if those affected can anonymously share their details (date notified, division/role, notice period given, when normal benefits ended).
Wishing everyone well during these stressful times. Cigna leadership is right about the connection between "mental health/physical health" but is currently a luxury that they cannot extend to their own employees.
One being let go is one too many.
I don’t understand the post mocking the hype of a 1/18. It impacted me and several people in my organization.
Trust me, there are people on here reading about it. Some people know, and they may be afraid to say anything but people definitely know. If they're a Director or above, then they have been involved in submitting names. I say just stay proactive and do not wait for the axe to fall, get ahead and start planning and if you do not need to move on, then all is good but waiting for them, not a good move. It's early in the year, opportunities exist. Good luck.
The "hype" has always been for February 2024. But it doesn't lessen the impact for those let go today. I'm sorry to hear about these, and hope you all find better opportunities as soon as possible.
I know of someone let go today
If all the hype about 1/18 has taught me anything, it's that no one in this site knows anything and you're wasting your time looking for answers here.
