It’s 1/18, patiently waiting to see if it’s my turn on block. Some of my meetings have been shuffled but none cancelled yet. It’s too quiet at Evernorth right now.

You’re exactly correct! I was JE’d Thursday after 20+ years. Such a relief. I am questioning a statement in the package, as the termination date is not for another month, and I was told to log off that day. The package states the expectation is for the affected employee to perform their role as normal until their termination date. That’s difficult when the cut your access like you stealing secrets or something. I’m almost sure it has something to do with WARN.
I’ve noticed the high yesr of experience folks getting laid off.. I’m assuming it’s w because they cost the most (besides the c suite)
Surely this helps them cut cost, but in the long run I’m sure this will hurt the company
I'm seeing a trend, if you have many years of working here at Cigna, you have a high likelihood of being laid off.
#1. Isn't this age discrimination?
#2. What kind of message is this sending to the rest of employees with less years working here?
Cigna is clearly sending a message that they don't want older employees and prefers if employees hop around rather than stay.
My job was eliminated after 25+ years. Sad to see others with high years of dedicated service was let go as well. Good luck to any others!
It seems like they are consistently doing it every month (maybe WARN related). So in theory everyone should be safe until the end of Feb that is still employed. And then God willing there won't be many after that but people have mentioned 'rolling' and 'June' so who knows.
I got let go yesterday. 15 years with the company and 2 or 3 years away from retirement. Dreading looking for a new job at my age.
replying to: So next date for everyone to look out for now is 2/29?
No, we originally were advised that 02/29 would be the 1st round of layoffs in 2024, however we still got one 01/18. So take it with a grain of salt. Essentially Cigna layoffs employees whenever it feels like, but it prefers Thursdays. So look out for random unexpected meeting invites on Thursdays... but Cigna can and will lay off employees whenever it feels like despite the day of the week. I expect to get several e-mails how so and so person "choose" to leave Cigna to seek other opportunities.

I heard over 35 people in ops and related I.T, were JE today. I lost several work friends. Today was no joke.
7 people on my team of 70 had their jobs eliminated. 10% redux. Please don't ask the area but will say it's related to PM.
I'm sorry about this, hang in there. I know it's easier said than done but when I hear about stories like this, it just hurts. What area in Cigna did you work, if you wanted to tell? I know many are really worried right now.Post from TheLayoff.com
Engineering coworker got laid off today. 1/18 layoffs are definitely happening now.
Was he part of the departments that got reorged?

seems like a lot less layoffs today vs last november and october? only seen like 2 mentions of layoffs today
Can you share which org you’re in?
Eliminated this morning after 20+ years.
They aren’t close to being done yet. They have to recoup too much money and the only way that can be done is through role eliminations.
Good Luck to everyone affected by these decisions.
Sorry to hear that. what department were you in? People are on edge here. already 12pm
My job has been eliminated. Termination date 2/17. I've been with Medco/ ESI/ CIGNA for 30+ years. Leader saying that there will be more today. My call was early.
It really is awful quiet given all of the reorg and MA divesture noise.
I'm in MA. No meetings on my calendar to cause alarm and no one has told me anyone was let go, yet.
