Has anyone had a supervisor for the last month? I feel like they are setting us up to fail on purpose. Management has been in a meeting for like EVER. They are setting all these new goals in place and no one is around. I know it is a self starter environment.. but self starting sometimes gets you self fired. I think I am just frustrated over all, and being worried about being fired every day is awful.

Thank You sooooooooooo much for this tip. I promise you that researching short term disability is how I am spending the rest of the day.
Just thinking some more about them adding the federal compliance officer to the PIP document. They did state in our performance increase requirement email that it was related to "compliance". Like we're non-compliant for taking a reasonable amount of time to review charts, and not they're non-compliant for letting 1/4 of our team leave and refuse to replace them or allow for overtime, resulting in a 2 quarter backlog of unreviewed codes. Yes, it is our fault. We're being non-compliant.
How was the PIP document updated?
It's a minor change (or maybe not). The revision history at the bottom says "Updated Disciplinary Action Committee definition to include Federal Compliance Officer as a member." To see it, go to IRIS > Workplace Resources > Company Policies, click Performance Disciplinary Action Process, then View Article Details, then Related Content (1) at the bottom and it'll take you to the Compliance Disciplinary Guidelines document with a revision date of December 6, 2023.

Poor leadership is the problem. Quarterly Reviews should be occurring as well as clear performance goals. Had a bad manager who was demoted who could not do that but was there to create fake reprimands.
Bad bosses are everywhere and that is their game— keep you in the dark. They are generally worried and disengaged because they cannot lead.
Self service only works if you adequately address ALL potential employee needs. I find that you need to know someone who knows someone who knows SOMEONE'S SISTER, who knows the person that does the thing you need help with. It's ridiculous, I shouldn't have to network to do the bare necessities of my job.
Everyone is going out on Short Term Disability for their mental health. File a claim and take a paid break. Seems like Cigna has pushed everyone to the point of breaking down.
Sounds a bit paranoid without specific performance criteria - don’t be a victim or casualty of questionable management practice…make things happen and get the work done.

Bingo. My team got an announcement that our productivity goals were increasing to an unachievable amount the day after the company updated their policy document on PIP's. It's like in October when the severance document was updated right before the giant layoff was announced. This is part of a strategy to save the company money. They are trying to fire us with cause now so they don't have to pay severance OR unemployment - we're all officially bad employees.
