  1. Yes, this was coming, but no one should say I told you so
  2. You have a good network, tap into it. Lots of Citrites in great companies who can vouch for you
  3. Drop the "#OpentoWork" sign... Geeze. Just make it visible to recruiters. You are not desperate. That sign does not help you.

Thats pretty insensitive to a situation they didnt ask for. It doesnt mean they are desperate, its signalling to others they are available to take onna role that may not be visible to them. Have some empathy Tom Krause (op).

This is useful to let your network know … people who knows you, know that you are looking for a job and may reach you with opportunities they would be aware of or will talk about you in their work environment

Yeah, I don't get usefulness of the "open to work" tag. LinkedIn has a billion users. Nobody is going to see your profile with that tag and think "he needs a job? Let me contact him." Recruiters will search for people with certain skills, and message them. Best thing is to keep your profile updated, learn a few tricks about optimizing your description, etc.
