If Cigna is trying to dump Medicare, why are they enforcing all of this close monitoring of us? From the badge swipes for in office employees to the computer monitoring and now call recordings for the WAH employees. Is this just an attempt to get people to leave?

The monitor everything from how long we are in a system, if our mouse goes unmoved for a couple minutes, etc.
What are the details on computer monitoring? This is the first I’m hearing about it
I guess it would depend on if another company buys the Medicare business …. Would they also inherit office space and equipment? I would assume so looking at how things transpired when Cigna bought HealthSpring. So would probably keep people working hybrid and not make any changes.
While I don’t think everything is usually on the up-and-up, I think this has been a long time coming for MA. The other business units have done this type of thing for a great deal of time now, so it has been in the works for us. Healthspring/MA has always sort of been the last for things like this which often works in our favor, honestly.
There are other things they are doing to push out the workforce in an attempt to dodge severance and the like, but I don’t feel this is one of them. Most people I work with hate this, but most aren’t actively looking for other jobs right now and if they are, in only a few cases is a direct result of the monitoring. Truthfully, most insurance companies monitor at this rate and level (some worse), and people know this, so it’s not enough to push people out.
Yes, it's a strategy started over a year ago now under enforcement. The goal is to get employees to leave without having to pay severance.
My big question is if they do divest Medicare, do employees get to go back working from home?
