Any guess when severance will get paid out?

I’m on the inside? Is that why my last day was 12/1?
Why ha there been no legal action against the company? I can only conclude they either met their legal obligations or that nobody has any desire to enforce the provisions of the act. If the latter is the case then the act is moot. As a friend of mine is fond of saying, a rule without a punishment isn’t a rule.

Did you see Centene on the WARN ACT Tracker? Did you see Centene report any layoffs to the WARN ACT since 2021?
Trust me I am not bitter, I am glad I went in the first round. Had they reported to the WARN ACT…..there would have been no reason for it to be leaked to the press just a few days before that round of individuals was to be notified starting 10/2. In an article on FIERCEHEALTHCARE.com dated 9/27/2023.._”It does not appear that the health insurer filed a WARN notice through the state of Missouri, according to a publicly available dashboard. Centene did not provide Fierce Healthcare with more clarity regarding whether it filed a WARN notice.” That is just one cited source.
Tell us you are on the inside of this without telling us all. Perhaps you should contact your AG and do your homework, since you seem so knowledgeable from the inside stance on all of this. Big companies lay-off…it’s just something that happens, so no, I am not bitter. Had they posted to the WARN ACT it would be available for the public to view.. period. Centene has only notified the WARN ACT of 3 layoffs since 2020.
Notice how I have not stooped to your level of name calling??? Instead, I give you data you can verify yourself if you wish, That is how I know where your loyalty lies.
“ They did not report to the state and government level announcement of mass layoffs. Yes they gave us 60 day notice, but they did not report it to the state and governmental level as required by the Warn Act.”
Frankly you have no clue. Centene has teams of lawyers AND the fact that word of the layoff was public knowledge well outside of the 60 day window. To believe that they failed to meet their legal obligations is just ridiculous. Have you contacted your state AG and reported this violation you believe to have occurred? Have you asked the state if they were notified?
I’m certain the answers to those questions are no and no.
What states are saying they weren’t notified in accordance with the law?
You are a fool who is bitter trying to spread rumors/lies.
They did not report to the state and government level announcement of mass layoffs. Yes they gave us 60 day notice, but they did not report it to the state and governmental level as required by the Warn Act.
They didn’t violate the Warn Act. You were given 60 days notice. I realize that you’re bitter but making false statements doesn’t help anyone. If you think they violated any laws go visit your local attorney. If you have a case they will take it on contingency. Won’t cost you a penny.
And getting 3 weeks pay on the last paycheck doesn’t by itself push you into a higher tax bracket, it ups the withholdings. Your tax bracket is determined by your income over the entire year. I didn’t sign my release to receive my severance until yesterday because I didn’t want my severance paid out in 2023. THAT will push you into a higher tax bracket. The withholdings will still be the same but you have all year to plan if you go back to work and will have more income in 2024.
As it is January is only a week away. You can file your taxes and if too much was withheld from the 12/8 check then you’ll get a refund.
They only paid us that last 40 hours because they violated the Warn Act by not posting a layoff of 2500 people. Their way of skirting the law. They didn’t do us any favors by putting it on last check with 80 hours worked and thrusting it in a higher tax bracket.
"They could have at the very least and I do mean very least paid us the PTO we accrued the last two weeks we worked but were not permitted to use! "
Didn't you get paid for the week of 12/8 that you didn't work? Our last day working was 12/1 but we were paid through 12/8... so you were paid for PTO accrued but not used.
I guess I was fortunate but my PL allowed me, even encouraged me to use all of the accrued PTO time I had coming. I think I left with 1.5 unused hours.
they wanted to keep the money in the coffers to earm interest & for the investor day calll Financials. Everthing they do is intentional!!
A pay stub for $0???? WTH? They could have at the very least and I do mean very least paid us the PTO we accrued the last two weeks we worked but were not permitted to use! No Christmas here bc who knows if we will even see it by 1/5 or 1/19???
This company su-ks, you could have paid our severance by 12/22. You had enough time to get your sh-t together!
Yeah, I was highly annoyed, too, but not surprised. It’s not difficult people, they knew they were laying us off in October. They could’ve had it set up.
Sooooo I was also laid off on 12/8 with last work day being 12/1. I received my email to sign in workday on 12/9 - I signed same day. I received confirmation notice in workday on 12/10 as a receipt of my signature. The revoke period is only 7 days.... as of 12/22 which is a company pay cycle, it would be day 11. Why on earth did I check dayforcehcm to see if my severance paid out and the paystub says 0.00 . I am beyond annoyed. I can't believe they didn't see fit to get these checks out prior to the holidays. Goes to show how much they truly care about their employees.
12/8 lay-off here.
I just received guidance in my email.
It will be paid out within 1-2 company pay cycles AFTER the revocation period.
