Has anyone physically received their severance package to sign yet?

Reading about severance and unemployment.
In the state of california, severance is not wages. It is consider payment for value you added to the company in past years.
Therefore, you can collect severance and unemployment which I did.
Now a trick they do for some people is pay you the difference between unemployment and your salary. You have to file for unemployment since they only pay partial.
Unemployment payments was highest during Covid due to add-on by federal government.
Over 45 puts you in a special class where they have to limit the number of older employees laid off via a formula. Note they get around this by getting rid of the 22 year olds.
I was laid off as well. I received my severance package on the 29th. I have returned my equipment except the monitors, keyboard, mouse since I did not receive a box for them. I have not signed the severance package yet. I was offered 8 weeks for the 8yrs I was employed by them. Unsure if I should push back since I'm in TX is an at will state.
It is not accurate that you can receive both unemployment while receiving severance. Our severance agreements explain this and also explain that applying for unemployment violates the terms of the severance and can make it null and void.
I am curious to know how many of your departments were eliminated. 6 people under the Contact Center were laid off to my knowledge. Trying to get a count, to see if a WARN notice should have been done (if over 50 people laid off, it is required). Also, please know that their delay to send the severance package is a tactic to put undue financial pressure on all of us to accept their terms. Don't hesitate to put pressure on them, like if you know something, say something. I am moving forward with next steps, and I would encourage you to do the same. Their severance package is a joke.
FAQs state that severance letters will be sent out no later than termination date, which of also what HR told me during the layoff call.
Also, if anybody is getting less than 4 weeks severance, you need to push back. Company policy states that 4 weeks severance pay is the minimum. I checked this out as I was going to give my resignation letter on a Friday but got cut that Tuesday. Your loss, Molina, you soulless cowards.

They do not care. We are just numbers. If you don’t give 2 weeks notice you are considered trash and non-re-hire-able, but they can just cut you and your family without notice just like they did no matter how long you worked and how great of an employee you were. Right before Christmas.
I have not received my boxes to return equipment either. I did email Leslie from hr and asked about severance letter. She advised they will go out or be received by Jan 1.

Anyone get their info from HR yet? I was told I’d get info from HR about the severance and I haven’t. Then I’d have to send back my equipment. It’s been 3 weeks and I still haven’t got the boxes to return the computers or HR info on the severance. I’m getting scared about money!
I have not received mine as of this date. However, we are technically still employed until the end of Dec. hopefully it will arrive soon as the end of month is fast approaching. I still feel fortunate to receive 2 seeks severance and pay to end of Dec. no you can not double dip into your states unemployment system. Think of it as a paid vacation.
Even while receiving severance pay you should be able to receive unemployment. You do however need to report it along with any PTO hours that will be cashed out due to this layoff. Not sure if you would get the entire amount of unemployment benefits. I’m wondering if this is the reason why this severance package is broken down by by-weekly payments like our normal pay and not a lump sum as normally done. Either way this su-ks.
This scares me the most. And I signed up for Unemployment and then HR told unemployment I was committing fraud cuz I have severance benefits coming in and so I was denied!!! Now I have no money at all!!!! Merry f’ing holidays huh? That’s how you treat your staff after 10 years? When Joe Canceled the all staff meeting cuz he didn’t have ba--s to face us? What a joke!
