Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Midland Basin South P

Complete and utterly corrupt with the so called leadership. Favoritism and su-k ups are all that group thrives on. The leadership has declined heavily the last few years and now the ones running the show are just each others “buddy”. They really show those SPIRIT values….

To the younger and lower level employees out of the Pegasus field, I fully recommend to seek opportunities within the company else where. Make quitting your last resort as COP as a whole is a great company. Seems like the Pegasus office really puts a damper on the COP name. I’m not even from the area and I’ve heard all about it. Goodluck fellas!

As an experiment, I encourage you to call the ethics hotline (explain as a test) and see who actually answers the phone. You will discover a complete lack of seriousness in this.

Years ago I contacted the ethics hotline. I had a very clear documented case (Legal in fact told me this and encouraged me to pursue). Turns out, though, if the person is powerful enough the case gets described as a “disgruntled employee” and you’re layed off at the next round. Lesson learned.

Of course with the Holidays people tend to shrug off issues but maybe the new year will bring a much needed shake up if this area has in fact kept their inconspicuous behavior under wrap until now. I always root for the for the side who doesn’t use their kneepads.

SPIRIT values.
DON’T call the ethics hotline.
YOU will be identified as the problem. YOU will go on a list. YOU will be targeted for attrition with progressively poorer reviews, job assignments, and workloads.
It’s not just what we do….

A vast majority of the foremen out of the Pegasus office got to those positions solely out of the buddy system. Complaints have been made to ethics prior but things remain the same. They are unethical in every sense of the term. From the Production Superintendent down to the newest foremen. Nothing is “what you know” out of this office.

Corruption and simple mean spiritedness thrive in the absence of brave voices and benevolent leadership. Vote with your actions, voices or feet but do something. Use untraceable numbers to call in complaints to the ethics hotlines over and over. Write letters to each Board member to let them know THEY are on the hook to correct the behavior.

Old timers used to say when things ran like that every so often the company would catch wind of situations and some major house cleaning followed…….maybe it’s time depending this situation.
