What are your thoughts? If you were able to sign your letter on 12/9, do you think they will process severance for payout 12/22? Does anyone think they want to payout what they can and be finished with us in this fiscal year?

I think that no matter when it pays out it will be part of 2023 taxes. It looks like that would make it 1/5 when it will be received, however, that will still be for pay period ending on Dec 29th or 30th.
I was part of the October layoffs. 10/06 last working day, 10/13 “separation day” and signed my agreement on 10/14. Severance payout received 11/10. Hope this helps.
My last day worked was 12/1, separation date 12/8. They paid some of us to stay home last week and instead of that 40 hours paid on 12/22 they put 40 extra hours on top of the 80 actually worked paid 12/8. 120 hours paid 12/8.

Why did they add an additional 40 DTO hours?
Honestly the last check where they added 40 extra DTO HOURS, really screwed many on taxes too!
If it does pay out in December, it will negatively impact us on taxes
