Actually know a couple of folks that went to work for SpaceX and Tesla. They all do really love their jobs but each say that working there is like working in a perpetual turnaround.
Very few folks think they will stay for more than a few years so you just have go into it knowing you’re going to be looking for another job fairly soon (yeah, yeah I know, “with the PiPs Exxon is a one year contract, blah, blah).
Personally, I don’t think I could work for Musk just because he is rather erratic and it seems like there is no one to keep him from making a really bad decision (e.g. buying Twitter, Cybertruck…) and tanking the stock which is how the employees get a lot of compensation.
