Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Laid Off about 4 Years ago

I knew when I got laid off that I was moving on and that I wasn't going to look back. Which meant, that I wasn't going back to UnitedHealth. When I got laid off, I was literally in shock. I just couldn't believe that the company I was loyal to for almost 20 years just said goodbye. Through my contacts I could have I returned. But no Thank you. First of All United/Optum doesn't even keep it real when it comes to laying off employees. The way it's done, it DOES NOT show up in the news, newspaper, nowhere. If you're bold enough to do that then be bold enough to be HONEST!
Through my faith and being grateful and positive I secured a full-time job with amazing benefits at a Non-Profit company in the healthcare field making about 40% more than I made at United/Optum. Once I realized my true worth, I demanded the amount of salary that I was worth. I Love my job and it's remote.
When one door closes another opens and what is for me is for me. Because when I was first laid off, my mentor recommended I look into a particular company, I didn't. Fast forward that's where I'm working now, so I truly believe it is my destiny. Best of luck to all and God bless!

I love this! I left 10 years after things got really bad due to multiple layoff. Fast forward to 4 years and I started a successful business, work 1/3 of the time and raised my income by 1/3. I am traveling the world as my business is remote. They are better things than working yourself to the bone for a company that does not care.

Wow 40% more than UHG at a Non-Profit. What roles did you go to/from?
