Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Awake and anxious

I don't see much sleep in my cards for tonight. This will be a long night and then an even longer day. I just hope everything gets wrapped up tomorrow. If I'm not laid off, I don't want to be forced to go through this again for who knows how long. Let us enjoy the holidays in peace.

Re: "My phone is blowing up today from my old coworkers who got let go today. Social workers and UMNL nurses so far today. I was let go on 11/1"

I'm sorry to hear about your and your coworkers' layoffs. I really hope you find something better!

Would you mind posting specific numbers and departments (without truly revealing yourself or your coworkers)? I think the thread titled "Anyone laid off on 11/9" could be most appropriate. Let's start tracking this information and trying to learn what exactly is going on at Cigna ourselves.

Everyone deals with potential layoffs differently. Some people benefit more from not knowing about any updates, as it reduces anxiety. Others benefit more from knowing as much as possible so they can be prepared for the worst. I do think that we should all try to take care of ourselves the best we can. If you find that reading these posts increases your anxiety with little/no added value, maybe you should strongly resist reading them!

No call on my calendar from my manager. So guess I am safe. If you constantly think about getting laid off you can draw that negative energy to you. Just don't. Be prepared either way and let it go. We can't control it anyway.

My anxiety is through the roof. I can’t decide if I want to be laid off for the relief or not. Even if you survive this one, there will be several more in the new year. I’m just exhausted.

As someone who was a 10/12 layoff, it is not so bad and the feeling of being outside a toxic work environment is honestly pretty great. Onto bigger and better things!
