tbh most people often thing their legacy company was the good one. I makes sense, its what you knew, and the new stuff always sux.

my feeling was the original at&t may have been the best and after the gov breakup, when they eventually came back together everything was worse.

uswest had its issues but was far better than the company today

qwest seemed worst and it didn't help the corrupt CEO came in saying how the USW people were bozos, etc. tbh, there were quite a few slackers let go, but then layoffs every year till the CTL merger and no raises I ever heard about

ctl was probably good company also, with good people, but after the merger you had a collision between get-r done el cheapo style ctl small time experienced and large bloated Qworst empire who basically took over ctl whether the name remained or not

then in comes L3 with their better than everyone (but worst at everything) and you get the rebranded lipstick on a pig we call lumen ... L3 really took over despite staying CTL ... typically confusing and messed up

now with Kate its trying to fix things with DTL and being less exclusive and she has no idea the true depth of the problems she inherited ... and the people hired also have no clue either

meanwhile they are now returning to the divisive days of working in isolated groups ... oh your enterprise? oh we are mass markets, oh we are wholesale, no we are quantum and nobody plays well together and everyone does their own thing their own way ... and the silos are returning and nothing good will come from it, except maybe more spin offs

the level dysfunction created by these merger is horrific

the only ones who win are those doing the messed up deals

Is that Seeger’s post for real?
Sara did you write that about yourself?

If not you should be flattered that someone saw your post comments to Kate as anything other than su-king up.

Wake up yourself. RFM is more than TDM traffic. Lumen doesn't care any more about the non-legacy network either. The circus has less clowns running the show.

Lumen doesn't care about that if it involves TDM traffic.
Wake up!

The Reality versus the delusion.
RFM currently has a few alarms, 160,000 Critical, 571,000 Majors, 68,000 Minors. It's far from a bed of roses in the network that I can see. Throwback Thursday to when this was unacceptable and maintaining the network was still a urgent daily function.

the last couple comments on here are solid gold

next level stupidity over the years, horrible clueless mis management and an appetite for questionable deals to make a few insiders rich and dubious partners / vendors even richer

many careers were destroyed or wasted being misused and abused by this hot mess of a company

Living thru bankruptcy with one of the earlier companies was way before 2010; let’s just say 1997. So I have lived it and it’s obvious the eventual outcome of this company. Too much debt and not enough revenue and customers. Giving away fiber on intercity routes to hyperscalers at a fraction of the cost it took to build the infrastructure. Bad business model Eventually be ti-s up. So all you koolaid drinkers haven’t lived long enough to understand. Don’t get su-ked into the vortex.

if only these investors knew the complete and utter disfunction within, the continual internal reorgs, and where the real bloat is, they'd be demanding change or cutting their losses and selling off. Lumen can't get out of their own way, and can't do anything right, heck they can't even send out separation papers with the correct name on them.

Hey how about laying off a guy who spent 38.5 years with the company?
Classy move Lumen.

Kate Johnson has posted a comment on Linkedin to the Wall Street Journal author, Drew FitzGerald. I believe she is saying that her bet being made is on the Company, its strategic plan and The Team from which she is just one person.

That's a fair comment which is really saying that she believes in the people at The Company who are being entrusted for making Lumen realize the long term vision of why The Network was built since its beginning.

A long term employee who has been on the journey since Global Crossing was purchased by Level 3 in 2010, made a supporting comment worth noting. Her name is Sara Seegers. Her journey would have included working for CEO's John Legere, James Crowe, as well as Jeff Storey before Kate Johnson and excluding Glen Post which didn't last long after the "reverse merger."

She knows a little bit about change, transitions, transformations, and chaos to be sure, but most of all, endurance.

Employees of this organization would be wise to seek out Sara for understanding where this Company's Network is taking the world if they haven't figured it out yet.

Oh, for the record, we are long term shareholders holding significant unrealized paper losses, though we very much believe in the future of Lumen Technologies expecting that current "equity" will remain in tact. This is for the people barfing on this thread regarding "Yes" men and or woman or any other gender one chooses to be associated with today!

Of course, our future success, not unlike Kate's will depend on all of you wonderful employees continuing to do amazing things at Lumen, and selling a he-l of a lot of those products and services to domestic and global consumers.

Thank you for your time and mind share if it is being applied.

Yep there's the yes man with kool-aid dripping off his chin. Ya been hiding out under the desk?
Ride this dead horse a little longer, you and the company are going nowhere, except to eventual unemployment and bankruptcy court.
Enjoy the ride!
