ExxonMobil has no intentions of paying anyone a severance package. They will string everyone along until you get fed up and quit.

I do wonder about the LTI component. They have said a couple of times that the new salary will include LTIs. They may have even put that in writing once. But the current story seems to be that our new salary will NOT include the LTI component. If the offer doesn't include your old salary plus bonus plus LTI, wouldn't that be sufficient reason to trigger a severance package?
Except for those who no longer receive LTIs.
XOM has been hiring 100s of people for months for all positions in India and Kuala Lumpur or as they call it, BTC and KLTC. All types of Engineers, Geologists, Analyst etc. If your profession is land that is Budapest. Accounting, payroll, HR, data analytics are Brazil and Argentina. Listed above is a very abrreviated listing to give you some insight. XOM Houston is being shredded and everything is sent to these low cost centers. Sharing because a very high number of employees there see the plan to eliminate them as well, replace them by Low Cost Centers no matter what it must happen. Sharing this does not make any of the changes easier for any of you but you are not alone. The general feeling here is stress, depression, anger, betrayal and we know something isn't right but don't know what the plan is for XOM US employees either. Many feel like it is going to be very ugly very soon. Every position occupied by an XOM employee has a low cost person doing their job for their area in India or some other LOW COST CENTER. Emphasizing doing the same thing. Easily replaced. This is all being done with very poor quality and correctness, thus not really netting any time or savings but the executives are moving forward with getting rid of as many U.S. employees asap.i know this does not help calm any anxiety but think of it this way, This is the merging of 3 companies staff. That should be all that needs to be said. 3 to 1!!!!
Why is this even a question or surprise anymore?
I would add that “stringing you along” means paying your base salary plus cash and LTI. I can live with that.
