Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

ASC

Affordable, Simple, Connected. What exactly is ASC and how does it include the agent? If it does...connected means what?

"ASC is hot garbage very outdated and NOT what our customers want."

Some interesting comments! Can someone from the ASC technical team provide information what is happening? Are the comments regarding ASC accurate?

It would take close to $300 million in additional IT development costs to move the policies from legacy apps to ASC. The curry geniuses in IT leadership pivoted quickly away from the topic, and convinced the business leadership that the cost is simply too high. Having done so basically invalidates the original architecture and associated projected long terms savings stemming from a successful ASC deployment. Why did they not alert the board of the complete cost of ASC? The answer is simple. Because they make sh-t up as they go, to the detriment of the company. Allstate will never be like Progressive! IT leadership needs complete overhaul. Trian are you listening?

They won’t ever migrate it - Allstate is kings of holding old outdated policies. Leadership is afraid of rocking the boat for their old policies and rightfully so for once - would guess policies older than 10 years old are 30% more profitable than policies newer than 10 years old. Can’t afford to rock the boat with those cash cows.

Anonymous @1iqg+1ptVdFxi or anyone who can answer. If it will be competitive for nonstandard type customers, but not preferred ones, how will we ever be able to migrate our classic auto, etc from the legacy platform?

From a pricing perspective, the product will be significantly competitive on non-standard auto, uncompetitive on the “preferred” customer. This is why they keep talking about packaging it with renters, not homeowners.

Curry folks have pretty much gamed the system from applause to internal promotions and job postings as well. The drinking water well has been poisoned. Need more vigilance . Need two state solution. Cannot play by the rules of losers.

Claims is pretty much self service already. They never get back to our customers and then the agent has to get involved. Our claim department is horrible and has been long before Transformative Growth.

The Affordable, Simple, Connected products being rolled out are cheaper but also are required100% down/full pay at new business and at each renewal in many states taking a lot of the billing and servicing costs out of it.

ASC is a direct based product that is a cheaper insurance option that is more "do it yourself" for the insureds. It is the product that will eventually eliminate the exclusive agent as Allstate tries to become more like Geico and Progressive taking on a more direct and independent agent focus. The issue is some states do not like the lack of accountability that Allstate has for the ASC product.

Is this another direct to company product, bypassing the agent?
