Another round of layoffs! Daily there are new contact employees from overseas. Gainwell signed an agreement with a company called WiPro (Bangalore, India), they will also be performing IT work. Meanwhile removing salaried employees.
Rather than taking accountability for mistakes, they start a blood bath.

Of the goal of 2000 layoffs both in November and December don’t happen it will just be delayed by a few months.
Certain things have to be in place to make these layoffs happen. It is an aggressive timeline. But it isn’t if. It’s when they happen.

Obviously I can’t tell you who I am. I have to remain anonymous. But I can tell you that I have been part of layoff discussions along with being sold discussions. I can’t prove anything to you without exposing myself. So you can choose to believe it or not.
I posted before about 45% being the goal. And there were plenty of posts about saying it can’t happen. There was even a post saying these layoffs wouldn’t happen for two years.
Well the facts are that Gainwell is losing more business than it is taking in. Layoffs have happened. In fact just under 2,000 people were let go in October. It didn’t take two years. It didn’t take two months. Over half of Gainwell accounts are on a corrective action plan from the states. You heard mention of it during the town hall saying we had to get that under control. Far more than that are at risk of being lost business.
So you can continue to deny reality if you want. But it is happening. Outsourcing is ramping up. Jobs are being lost to overseas and to declining business.
If that isn’t proof enough for you then your head is in the sand.
I have seen this first hand at other companies. Cost is only a component of the equation.
It starts by opening the door to high level managers from a certain "demographic" to take positions in the company. They in turn bring more and more of them into key positions. Before you know it, offshoring starts making a lot of sense.... of course it does, these people are working hard to send jobs back to the motherland. Cost is one component, but race/culture is another.
in paper it looks amazing...cheaper
In practice, everything takes a lot longer; getting a response to an email takes at least an extra day, phone communication... what a joke! language barrier, culture barrier, poor quality. that without mentioning that if any of them is in a position of power they talk down on everybody. they are ultra-hierarchical.
the only people that thinks offshoring to india is a good idea are the ones that don't have to deal with them and clean up the mess they create.
the client will suffer the consequences and the company will lose the client, plain and simple.
so yeah, please offshore to India as much as you can, get some cheap labor... you get what you pay for! never forget that. that will be the last nail in Gainwell's coffin.

How do you know or arrive at these layoff numbers? What you say may be entirely true, but anyone can post anything on the internet. How does anyone know that you are in any position to accurately know this information?
So that town hall saying 5% was a blatant lie.

The layoffs for October were just under 2,000.
The current plan is 2,000 for November. And an additional 2,000 for December.
There are some departments targeted to be removed completely.
The cuts will be deep.
So why do 13,000 people choose to work for this failure?
I feel like I have been majorly misinformed. They told me how awesome this company was when I was hired. I saw all the fake awards that this company had. They are a massive failure. Their main focus seems to be duping employees and clients.
Get out of this company. They should have trouble finding employees willing to work for them.

You know I almost feel like this company is a scam. I can’t believe that they somehow do nothing and still send out 13,000 paychecks every two weeks.

Easy sell for account managers:
“You know how we’re getting nothing done? Well, allow us to offshore and we’ll charge you 20% less for getting nothing done.”
Someone should alert cms and the states they should review contracts to assure contract obligations are not being broken with PHI and offshore regulations

Maybe focusing on solutions rather then headcount might make things more profitable. Like offices that are empty and expensive tools.
No they can’t outsource everything. But don’t kid yourself. They are going to outsource every single thing that they can. Skeleton crews will remain and they will be the required personnel only.
That means a significant reduction in headcount in the states. I would estimate it to be 50% or more.
This layoff thing is just getting started.
One thing about them outsourcing is that they can't outsource everything. The state contracts won't allow it, will they outsource what they can? Of course they will, but at the end of the day the bread and butter for Gainwell are State Contracts which unless laws change drastically in most of these states forbid outside US workers on the contract, many of the states don't even let out of state workers work on their contracts.
Being replaced has nothing to do with a physical building.
One of the cons of remote work - you can be replaced with anyone, anywhere.
That 45% reduction makes sense now. They will reduce in states and ramp up overseas. Pretty good strategy for the bottom line. Makes a company look good for a sale.
Whoa, I'm shook. WiPro approached us about partnering on a deal when we were still HMS and they were a total shitshow. Also, these peole from India are rude and very disruptive to project, obstructionist level antics.
