It’s not common to happen continuously.
It’s not common to never communicate about it.
It’s not common to just lay off 20% of a company every year your company exists.
Nope not common.
My sources have shared with me that it was 1,000 employees in October and 600 more in November. When calculated against our total employees around 13,000, that's about 12.3 %. bottom line, always be prepared with the resume updated and your contacts list. I've gone through this process 3 times already with other vendors...it's very common.
I think the figure would be much bigger if calculated as percentage of years of experience. They tend to go after expensive people, which means experienced.
Very bad news for customers.
Be careful who you choose to listen to.
I want to remain anonymous. But I will just say that this gentleman withheld lots of information regarding layoffs. GWT is not growing. Lost business and constant CAPs. Corrective Action Plans. Less people are needed. And the more that can be outsourced offshore the less are needed in the states. There is no need to increase employee numbers with less business.
You have never trusted GWT leadership. There is no reason to start trusting them now.
It is too bad that we are just a number.
Agreed he chose his words carefully. That 5% was just last week. There will be layoffs every week through the end of the year.
I have to ask. How can we be having a WFR which is Work Force Reduction if we are indeed growing? His answer was a blatant lie.
Yeah saying 5% sounds better than saying we let 700 people go last week.
I don’t trust any leader at GWT.
What he said was that the WFR from last week was less than 5%. What he didn’t tell you was that it will continue through the end of the year and if you do some simple math it’s easy to see that the total number could grow easily to 45%.
At least he was candid.
He also said that offshoring as many jobs as possible to India is not a rumor.
We had 3 more today. 21 people I personally know.
