I was affected by the layoffs and October 2023… Almost 8 weeks later I am still looking for a new position. What bothers me the most is that the position that I was in at Elevance (stupid name!!!) didn’t give me the right foundation or training for what these other companies are now requiring For their positions. Elevance still uses facets and NetworX configuration within the Facets database, while other companies are using QNXT and NetworX as a standalone… Which makes it hard because Elevance didn’t train us on this new technology. In addition they wanted us to use Microsoft access database For our queries and backend updates, while other companies are now requiring SQL…which management didn’t know how to teach. Just another slap in the face. Add to that the fact that due to “workload” and helping out other teams and Markets we were held back from learning aspects of our positions to help us excel in our roles …. They didn’t want us to move up, they didn’t want to promote us, or give us raises… They wanted us to stay stuck and do all their “busy work.” Then they ELIMINATED our positions after we fixed things and got them in order.
Worked for Anthem for nearly 11 years and I can attest to the fact that the work place is toxic. I left a year and a half ago because the stress was affecting my health. Truly a toxic toxic work environment!
They are sales people at heart. They can talk people into giving them these jobs.
@twl+1poXh4qJ. Yes...one may wonder what key traits have allowed these folks leading the call to earn ungodly amounts of money? One answer is the ability and willingness to spew massive amounts of b#$@ s@ with a straight face. Not everyone can or will do that.
That CAO Town Hall yesterday talking about culture was quite hilarious. I think executive leadership truly does have their heads buried in the sand. They have no grasp of how employees really feel about this place. I get it, there are there to collect their fat paychecks and bonuses and pretend to be making an impact.
I logged in early this morning hoping to have received an invite, but sadly nothing yet. It's crazy how many people actually want to be laid off.
Yeah, management being cagey...director cancelled meeting...anyone else getting lots of IT issues?......They know folks have an eye on the door and that is what they want so they don't have to pay severance.....
At this point no one cares anymore, they have made the workplace a bad place and disgusting environment to work in. My leadership even knows it, they do not even try anymore either. Place is toxic and everyone is talking about how they will just give 50% at best. Stay safe and good luck tomorrow everyone.
lol I had an impromptu “One on One” scheduled with my boss today for tomorrow morning early. They set it for “recurring” so I’m curious to see and welcoming a layoff honestly. It seems better than what I’m dealing with currently. If I don’t get cut I’m already on my way out… funny thing is I been in my position nearly 2 yrs and this is my first actual “1:1” so that was a red flag for me right there.
