Bravo to whoever wrote,"paging Micheal Capellas".Wasn't aware of him,all on this thread should check it out.30+ year retiree ,began with MaBell, thru CenturyLink til down sized, been thru strikes, force reductions call backs, and final involuntary separation plan, many years ago,I understand what you are going through, it's not pretty. What ever person is in charge,it's a numbers game, they see 4% as Xxxxx # dollars off the books, period. Not human Lumens I guess Kate called them???

Pretty melancholy. A lot of new guys just got promotions / hired on only to be smacked in the face by these latest events.

Not too bad. Many folks have been waiting for VSPP offers.

They are not providing a list of who was let go, perhaps because the list hasn't been finished yet. But we are encouraged to reach out and talk to people we normally work with. You can imagine how productive that is.

Kind of a good example of the culture these days.

No word from upper management in my department, even though my direct manager said we were safe.
Did upper management even read Dare to Lead? lol. What happened to being "vulnerable"? What happened to tackling the uncomfortable discussions?

No one really cares. We're just numbers on a spreadsheet.
Cowards. All of them.

Finally RIF’d yesterday after more than 3 decades at the company and with only 3-5 years until planned retirement. Our dept was hit by 20% not 4%. Me and all my reports. Sad but I’m legit worried for those friends/colleagues left behind to fill the gaps (good luck).

Makes me think maybe I got out in the nick of time. Severance was reasonable (max benefit), pension is protected as much as it can be by ERISA and PBGC I think. Now to reinvent myself for the next short chapter….wish me luck!

Feels like the ship is sinking a bit faster. Well not all is totally bad news, one sr. manager got let go, thank goodness. One person is going whom I never cared for anyway. Now all that needs to happen is get Noble out.

Personally, I wish the McDonald's guy was still posting on this site. My mood was always better reading his delusion throughout the day

The kool-aid drinkers are in even deeper and completely under the influence. Mesmerized by every word and every move the SLT and other VP's make. Someone spiked their drinks!
