Thread regarding ViaSat Inc. layoffs

Advice

  • Apply for an unemployment insurance claim ASAP, claims take 3 weeks to process and it's basically free money
  • Don't listen to shills or trolls on here
  • Keep your head up and do what you want elsewhere when you don't feel totally burned out

That's it.

Update your LinkedIn at least so people can reach out with other opportunities

  • Post you were laid off from Viasat, what your role was, and what you are looking for next
  • Add skills to your Profile
  • Connect with anyone you worked with now or in the past
  • update your experience, don’t be humble, what did you actually work on and what did it accomplish?

Start preparing for interviews so when the opportunity comes you aren’t left fumbling for answers.

I’m tempted to reach out to some people but then their LinkedIn makes it look like they did jack sh-t in 15 years at a company
