Maxine sent an email saying it was starting soon. 12/8 is the exit date, but the few minor unknowns are who, where, & what's offered
15 replies (most recent on top)
The company wants 10% of the 1800 offered to accept. After reading other replies here, it's obvious offers were made to people who wouldn't want vs those who would. The majority are I&M or cable titles where the average age is lower, wouldn't they rather some those techs backfill other titles to average down the age
NM will see VSPP next week 1 in some RCA s fishing show of interest
- 00 per year. Max 33,000.00. No thanks
Vspp offered in az
VSPP is being offered broadly to 1800, obviously not everyone will be accepted. No ISPP.
Somewhere in the Northwest
only combo techs in 2 major markets plus a lone network performance person and our last COE.
The 2 markets are seriously understaffed already.
We have COT's that wanted VSPP's but none were offered
Basically, the company offered VSPP's to people who don't want one and not to people who did. Go figure.
VSPP = voluntary separation severance package
a bunch of legal stuff you sign and in return you get x months pay and y months benefits and if applicable your pension options
They have sent out VSPP offers for many years to see if there is an interest and may let some who want it leave. It mainly is a show of interest. Sometimes they may need to lay people off, but they may offer more money so it appears as voluntary.
Maxine mentioned, they started processing union represented areas?
Whats that supposed mean?
I thought they were done with notifying everyone affected?
In Denver they're offering vspp's to broadband & net techs. They are customer facing and work on dsl/pots/gpon/Quantum. It makes sense to downsize in a title were the repair load is 5 days out. STL strategy
Whats a VSPP?
Well, you guys need some disruption!
John Legere?
Yeah! I took one. 3 years ago?
Wait till Friday and if your Local has been notified they will will start sending out that information. At least its VSPPs.
