Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Work load and work life now to Dec 1st?

Curious about other staff’s experience now that December 1st is fast approaching. Did you tell anyone you were laid off? Are you getting more or less work? Have you been ghosted?

August lay off here..... use your time if you can get it approved. My work load fluctuated. I wasn't 100% ghosted but wasn't included in several meetings....especially the one telling the team they were "safe" until after open enrollment numbers were looked at. Management wasn't cold to me but they definitely weren't engaging with me anymore either. I told a few trusted coworkers in the weeks prior to my exit. Sent a goodbye to my team and only 3 ppl responded. One of them was a fellow team member who was laid off. People leaders didn't acknowledge it at all.

I’m buried. No way I’ll get everything done. Fortunately it all started AFTER reviews opened and none of it was part of my goals for 2023.

Btw - if you didn’t know, if your leader wants to give you a PM or DNM, they all get pushed to Employee Relations first. Leader has to show documentation of when they provided feedback with dates and times of meetings. If they didn’t do that, it won’t stick without significant proof.

I'm from the August layoffs and my work dried up QUICK. I had to find stuff to do. Wasn't invited to meetings anymore either. One of my coworkers is getting laid off December 1st and she experienced her first time not being invited to a meeting. I told one of two people a week in my department but not everyone. I sent a final goodbye after nearly 21 years and got TWO people who responded in a department of 30+. It's a good thing that the people I liked, we keep in touch weekly by text.

My team all knows. Work has been heavy at times, light at others. My mgr said they would keep me as busy or as not busy as I wanted to be. No complaints here. My mgr insisted I take all my PTO (I will) and suggested I take my sick time which I have not. I can't recall taking any sick time in the last 30+ years. I'm going out with a positive attitude as being bitter would do nothing but make myself and others around me miserable. I've been through a few of these and each and every time it has lead to a better job than the one I left.
Best of luck to all!

They made me go to another level of business as a concurrent review nurse and tripled my work. Counting down the days until 12/1….

I have over 100 hrs of sick time - never had to use it. I am in a state now that is use it or lose it for Vacation - when I was in Cali it was PTO it rolled over but not anymore.

I’ve told a few people but my workload has definitely lightened in the last couple of weeks. Although I was asked to support and train others who are staying - seriously.

Told a few people and in days I had to work I was literally checked out and pivoted to do me!! Make sure you all triple check your allotted time through your separation date not last day worked and then use all of your sick and vacation. You earned that time!! August layoff here…I wasn’t going to let them take that too!!
