Is this an annual pattern and practice that needs to be addressed? Does UHG make a lot of money when they lay people off, not payout the annual bonus and 1-5 years of unvested 401k and retirement, unused PTO, or give severance (or a small few weeks)? Does this money go to executive bonuses or to the Off-shore workers? Why do American Companies and US Government use United Health Group HealthCare that off-shores so many jobs and lays off American workers? Should be a law about that. Can someone address this in a one page Wall Street Journal? Remember the days of the greatest generation that stayed with companies for an entire career and had pensions?

Number, not amount
Where did you read we aren’t getting /024 bonuses? I haven’t heard that.
Be very careful what you wish for. Universal care would be close to what medicare advantage and you wont like that more than coverage you have now. Drs do not like the reimbursement rates so good luck finding care.
I agree with the person who lost their "stock award" when they got layed off. Happened to me. That's the game people find unfair/deceptive!
I'd be surprised if your boss knew you were going to be laid off if they have you a 5 and a good bonus. All MAP scores have to be curved (x amount of 5's, y amount of 4's etc etc) and every department and team is given a specific bucket of money for merit and bonuses. No way they'd waste a 5 and money from the bucket when they could have given it to someone who wasn't going to get laid off to keep them happy while they watch everyone else fall.
Yes. I was rewarded $$$ in stock for a “5”, just to get laid off a month later. I didn’t receive any of it because it wouldn’t vest for 5 yrs. I’m certain my manager knew I was going to be laid off when I was given this “reward”. Smoke and mirrors. I’m surprised this is legal.
Are they even doing an annual bonus this year?m.. I thought read somewhere we will have just the merit raises which are nothing March of 2024.
Yeah, this is big business at its finest. A mega corporation with no antitrust regulations apparently. Soon we will only have 2-3 choices for healthcare insurance, so maybe universal coverage would be a more honest way to do business. Provide a service to the federal government, it might be cheaper for everyone but never mind quality of care!
Money is the only reason. Our "leaders" are part of the problem, as they are all invested in the same scam. The DoJ objected and then sat back down after getting properly greased. The corruption is far too widespread and too embedded at this point.
