We are cutting worthwhile parts of the company that actually deal with insurance and the customers, and this department is growing with the simple goal to give people warm fuzzies.

Expected to see a post like this with all the recent layoffs. It’s always easy to blame oppressed people for your hardships even though Tom Wilson and other WHITES are the ones who gutted jobs, underpays folks and takes home their huge bonuses but yea lets talk about IDE lmao.
Now now. You all know we can't get rid of the department whose sole purpose and mission statement is to try to instill guilt and shame for being white and straight and to make sure the white and straight are prohibited and kept from advancing their career at Allstate. Because that takes priority over actually being a profitable insurance carrier.
So in continued neglect to our insurance product and business profitability our company is catering to the woke social justice nonsense that is ruining this country. I would expect nothing else from Wilson and his cronies. We are keeping an extra department that does nothing to improve our product and market share and releasing thousands of employees dedicated to roles meant to maintaining and selling insurance. No wonder Allstate is not long for this world.
It's the pandering Allstate is required to do because they have the ESG extortion g-n to their head. Remember how craven our management is: they aren't going to do anything to upset any particular identity politics block. So they pay this officer level person and this DEI department as extortion money to the identity politics mob. It's that simple.
Waste? Yes. Sunk cost with no ROI- other than maybe not getting a building burned down here or there-yeah.

The IDE agenda generally gets positioned as the right thing and good for our business. Instead of promoting based upon merit, there is an overlay of discriminatory practices that will favor IDE/minority groups to the detriment of better qualified candidates. I've seen way too many employees promoted into roles beyond their potential to meet workforce composition targets, and ultimately they fail. Nobody wins when we try too hard to force an outcome. Work and life should be about equal opportunity and not engineering to equal outcomes. Pick the best players regardless of age, race, s-x, etc. We'd be a better company and employer.
ESC is all it is for. For all you "special groups" that think Allstate has IDE to make you and your employment better they really don't care about you and they really don't believe in IDE. They are just exploiting all of us in those groups to better themselves and to make more money for themselves. You are being used.
This company is pure trash. I can't wait for it to totally collapse.
This department exists solely to increase Allstate's ESC score. It serves no other function other than to annoy those individuals who do not fit within any of the special categories.
