SpkOtruthor whatever, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Zayo has zero interest in Windstain. Way too much baggage, even for zayo.

Remember this name boyz and girlz, "ZAYO". Sunu was on the board with Electric Lightwave. And Lightwave merged with ZAYO. Two years ago it was noted that ZAYO was interested in buying windstream. Are you connecting the dots here? The sale is not far away now. My Prediction is Elliot wants out from under this money pit and wants to get their investment money back. They brought on Sunu because of who he knows, so the sale can now be expedited along. Middle management is prob shaking in their shoes right about now. All their a** kissing with TT will no longer help them keep their jobs. 2024 should be very interesting in the Windstream camp.

I'm sure Tony didn't really want to sell anything. More smoke and mirrors to keep the bonus coming. He wasn't quite done milking the cow.

Years ago Centrylink came in and looked at the books and must have saw something that caused them to run the other way.

We should have all realized what was up then and left.

I think part of the failed sale attempts were definitely network/record related. Records are terrible which is part of why repairs and turn ups take so long. Kind of embarrassing because the people who knew the old acquired networks were layed off long ago. Leadership was good at creating the illusion of combined systems but they were never able to do so. The times they did or tried they lost so much info on old circuit paths. Troubleshooting and fixes have suffered.

Hearing some rumors that Tony was jettisoned after failing to close the sale of the business "multiple times".

It's seems Zayo was just the first in a series of failed sale attempts. If this is true, it makes sense that Sunu was brought in as CEO with his history of selling companies.

Buckle up kids. The flight is about to get rough.

Such great news about Tony. Hopefully, his golden parachute crushes him when gravity hits. He's the worst CEO I've ever seen in my 30-year career. Hopefully, EO is next. The only thing not exciting is having another eh-whole in charge. 23 years of experience just means more of the same ol playbook. He's being brought on board to help move the company off elliot. They want their payday.

You think they fired Tony with dignity in a face to face meeting or treat him like everyone else they've layed off over the years and fire him over a webex meeting? Or walk him out like a criminal.

Honestly Tony should of been gone back in 2019 when his guidance and leadership led to bankruptcy. His immediate reports were obviously his friends because they all looked out for each other and never seemed to suffer any responsibility for bad performance in the company. Now with Tony gone, Elliot or Paul Sunu would be wise to replace ALL the "Executive Leadership" that were at the top with Tony. Then start cleaning house of the good ol' boy middle management/upper management. Breathe some life into Windstream again.

I wish the new CEO luck but if he has any chance of succeeding a major overhaul of the layered management is needed. The morale has reached a new low and unfortunately that won’t change without major change. This kinda smells like the first move of many to come in preparation of selling the company off now that we are out of bankruptcy and profitable again.

Tony embodied everything that was wrong with Windstream. The new CEO will have a lot on their plate and will regret their employment choice.

Paul H. Sunu Biography

Mr. Sunu is an accomplished executive with over 27 years of telecom experience, with a focus on rural telecommunication. including as Chairman and Vice Chairman of Electric Lightwave, where he helped guide the transformation of the company’s business model into a fiber-centric operation.... resulting in a merger with Zayo.

Any theories for what this means for the company? I know it’s all speculation, but for the longest time it felt like they were tidying us up to try and sell. I’m not sure where or if this fits into that assumption.
