Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

The writing is on the wall…

With the integration of ITPro, Hitachi Vantara is ready for sell off - the future is not in infrastructure hardware for Hitachi. GlobalLogic / Digital / genAI is a much bigger pond to fish from. Hitachi Vantara’s revenue is peanuts compared to this and they’ve been struggling to expand their customer base for years. Vantara will be trimmed in the next months. This is the time of year they usually lay off staff. It’s a clear sign that almost the ENTIRE Vantara executive team is jumping ship to Hitachi Digital… They have their seats secured. Bye bye Vantara.

Layoffs are coming beginning of the year. It is always this way because of our new ceo. History has always been that within 3-6 months later we have a major layoff so this means after the new year.

Yeah, I have no idea what's up with this whole Pentaho+ debacle, but this decoupling sure feels like preparation for a sale. And you're right, we're definitely coming up on layoff season. IOT, catalog, cloud, AI, there's no end of places flush money down the toilet.
