Read that there’s a possibility COP is circling another Permian operator with a C name.
If true, that means there will be another round of “right sizing”. So all of us will once again be subject to HR’s whims and our boss’s biases.
Good luck to all!

I’m sure we’re already trying to make a deal or two on some others.
For once our inability to act worked in our favour.
lol - nailed it!!
"Occidental signs $12B deal to buy Permian producer CrownRock"
I assume we’re slow playing the CrownRock deal. Crude prices have been slagging downward and now other companies are in the picture. We don’t want to overpay into a declining market just for sake of acquiring something.
What happened to the Crownrock deal?
Whatever happens, one thing is sure.
Layoffs will follow.
Pack your office now to avoid the rush on boxes.
Diamondback, Crownrock, Devon, etc etc…
We’ll have to wait to see what happens.
Sitting in a pile of cash, not significant discoveries, fastest way to grow is to buy someone
Sorry. my last message cut off. What do you mean by “ which includes special “better” treatment for DEI.”
What do you mean exactly?
Technically, never a merger. As an example. Phillips purchased Conoco. Phillips had already purchased Heritage ARCO assets from BP. Conoco and Phillips leadership mutually destroyed each other and the castaway second tier ARCO leaders left from Alaska took over and gave us what we have today.
Hmmmmmmm. Ole you say?
Gulf of Mexico?
Actually, the brain trust that runs this company have settled on a merger with Oil of Olay. They apparently don’t know it’s a marketer of cosmetics.
Any chance that is Apache?
Remember, as we kept being reminded, the Concho deal was NOT a merger. It was an acquisition. If this new one goes through, it will be the same type of deal.
CrownRock

What is the second letter in company that starts with "C"?
With or without another buy or merger we’ve always been “subject to HR’s whims and our boss’s biases…” which includes special “better” treatment for DEI.
