if your job demands it, request company phone- Make them pay for company phone as I don't think it is ok to provide your personal cell number for work. Keep work separate... I don't like providers having my personal phone number and the jabber option su-ks.... They need to do better here!

We were told this in our last team meeting. It has been on the table for a while as our leader has been telling us not to expect for them to keep paying pretty much the entire year.

Forget internet, looks like some places make you buy your own laptop! Wells Fargo is discussing it on their board and some people are saying Chase already has that policy (I have zero idea if it is true)

I hope this doesn't not become the norm among companies. (Although I would totally buy a new laptop in order to stay at home) I really don't want to work in the office again.

I am hoping them ending the stipend maybe prevented an even higher layoff number than what we had this month.

I am thankful they are letting us remain work from home. I know people whose companies have already made them return to office or in the process for after the new year.

The cost associated with working in the office is higher for my family than internet.

"I am sure they will offer the ability to work in the office and use their internet if someone cannot afford high speed internet for their home."

There is so many things wrong with this statement but the biggest one is "cannot afford high speed internet". I am not obligated to be able to afford more expensive internet after my employer made the choice to have a majority of everyone work from home. Let's not even get me started on the fact that if you can't afford it then Centene is clearly not paying you "competitive wages" that they claim they are doing (which we all know they do not).

Give me the choice to go to the office and use "their internet"? Same mentality of "be grateful you have a job at all even thought your being sh-t on". That's funny considering they terminated their leases or sold the properties for most of their physical locations and I don't live anywhere close to my nearest Centene office. Maybe we can all hop a flight and go to the CEOs house and use her personal internet on her dime to perform our jobs being that it would benefit her the most - no? Or how long before they decide that they will no longer reimburse expenses for the folks they expect to fly out to different locations to meet with providers?

Of course, we find out this information on this website first. What horrible communication to employees by leadership.

It was to save money. They assume everyone has a phone and internet connection already. Certainly short-sighted considering this is primarily a remote work company. I'm sure many will be downgrading internet speeds come January. The only bonus is that I'm only available during standard work hours and I won't be taking any work calls on my personal phone during any hours. People will have to send an email or setup a call through Teams.

Cool - before you know it we will be paying them all together to work for them. I have cr-ppy internet where I live and have to pay additional just to make sure I have semi adequate service just to make sure I don't get disconnected from Cisco every 15 mins or maybe that is just Centenes sh---y way of not investing in tech that actually is efficient. I mean who the he-l closes administrative offices - tells you have to work remotely and then says - yeah you can also eat the cost to utilize the internet which you need to perform your job responsibilities? Oh wait - thats right Centene does.

that means you are no longer obligated to answer work calls on your cell phone during or after working hours, starting 1/1.
