They are wishy-washy on this. The selection totally makes no sense to me. I've seen some really good people cut.

Did you previously work for ADT? No layoff, you get a promotion!
Top-down approach. Probably looked at numbers from a spreadsheet and starting cutting according to targets given. HR needs to be held accountable for how poorly the selection process was done.
Probably whoever cost more for the same title.
