Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Laid off after 3 months

Is it common for people to be laid off after only 3 months on the job? I was let go today from UHCT and only been here 3 months.

Letting you go is the least impactful decision we could make. We let go of the new hires as they are still ramping up (not fully productive) and no severance payment needed.

looks like you just got caught up in the empire building of a manager. If they have the job rec they gonna fill it to build the empire. Then if they have to chop they can protect their besties. Happens in every industry with incompetant managers

it's not common. My leadership got ahead of this and stopped all hiring earlier in the year in anticipation of these pull backs.

Usually when that happens is more of a reflection on Management. Poor planning and vision and or lack of communication from the top. Sorry this happened to you.

Not common. Hint of the team ( broader sense)?
