Just curious if Chris sorenson did the repeat of 2017 layoffs 15 min zoom call “take 15 minutes to honor the sacrifices of your fallen colleagues.” Made my decision that moment to leave fidelity. There are other firms that pay significantly hire for the same work

Why would they layoff high performers is beyond me. I see low performers with connections are retained. It’s totally unfair

Why hire and continue to hire ? 700 layoffs yet over 2k open reqs, makes no sense.

Rumor is a 2% reduction in force (layoffs) company wide in Feb/Mar. There was talk of a VBO but they don’t want to impact leadership or experience brain-drain - there has been some big shake up at the top of the BUs and not all of it has been good.

I would be worried if you have an exception for connect weeks, a contractor, or if you were on the lower end of the annual reviews.

Let's drop the persecuted white man BS. It's a tired non-argument. If you are a white man and not successful, it's your own fault.

Anyone know if the 401k group is having increased hardship withdrawals? That is usually one of many indicators.

Unethical? Let's not talk ethics and Fidelity, in light of another mass shooting and the amount of money Fidelity has invested in g-n manufacturers and g-n retailers. If they were ethical, they would divest that money.

Layoffs can happen at any time. Not sure what each BU is budgeted for vs S&P.

But I would not be surprised.

You are in a recession now. Layoffs come if the company sees a trend of profit reduction.

A friend who works at Fidelity says that their numbers were blowout. It is unethical for a company that rich to lay off workers.
