Will PSG spinoff work for Altera

Been with the PSG group for a while. Most of their tools/reports are old outdated and Intel focus. Even the newer projects are a sh*tshow. Just wondering if spinoff would put the final nail on the coffin for Altera knowing Intel didn’t do jack with that BU since acquisition. Also DCAI market is heavily leaning into Xilinx for their FPGAs. Intel/Altera FPGA seems like a thing in the past. Just want to know how many of PSG Intel folks here are going to stick it out with new entity startup or leave.

The damage is done and no amount of financial wizardry will fix Altera... IPO sounds a lot s-xier then a fire sale but the result will be the same --- shareholder destruction complete.

Yup , turdzanich and the useless BOD pi---d away $16 Billion on altera,…. gone are the days when Intel had $10-$20B in the bank. I wonder what Intel might have looked like had they made Mike Splinter CEO instead of that ja----s craig barrett.

That explains why IBM selected AMD's Xilinx FPGA.

Another failed acquisition by Intel. Intel make get .25 cents on the $1 with a spin out... that might help provide free fruit in the cafe, but won't be enough to support the IFS 'moonshot'.

Anyway, it is clear that Intel no longer considers this 'strategic' any longer so, as it might be a good idea to bale.

Strange how Intel is only able to do one thing at at time. It is a deeply rooted cultural / leadership problem.

Intel destroyed Altera. Bumbling id--ts in charge of strategy have zero sense of the semiconductor industry

I left last year. There was an exodus of engineering workforce. Roadmap is a wreck. Failed acquisitions. Leadership team lacks vision, other than to move the engineering work to India.
