Thread regarding F5 Networks Inc. layoffs

Recent Layoff Oct 2023 Thread Updates....

Lot's of noise starting to circulate..... Someone posted in a previous threat of FLD doing a pre-recorded session announcing layoffs. Is that true?

"Don't give them any indication and they will stick around, until they let them go of course."

Yes, until one morning, they won't be able to log in. It is "ridiculously easy" to eliminate "numbers in the spreadsheet". Truly human-first BS!

The first time Microsoft had a big layoff they did it horribly. The next time they changed how it was done and they kept revamping it each time. My guess is that if F5 is planning on a layoff they will wait a bit because they don't want employees to think that every time there's a quarterly report and it isn't great there will be layoffs.

Personally one of the things I would do is make it random so people don't start looking before each quarter. Don't give them any indication and they will stick around, until they let them go of course.

"(...) last minute zoom with our VP tomorrow out of the blue, with no context and my manager won’t return my calls."

Update your resume ASAP, and record the Zoom call on your phone.

I’m in PM at hq and a colleague and I both have a last minute zoom with our VP tomorrow out of the blue, with no context and my manager won’t return my calls. Wish us luck

So maybe no jobs impacted?

Nothing was shared on the earnings, but do have some concerns on the following:

"For fiscal year 2024, F5 expects revenue that is flat to a low-single-digit percentage decline from its fiscal year 2023 revenue."

This is a red flag and should put F5 employees on notice to update resumes and ready to abandon ship. You never know when that invite to join a Zoom session to be informed - "It's a business decision based on the macroeconomic conditions and therefore, you must go because my ELT needs their bonus for FY24."

This I believe because its the only human way to terminate loyal employees! Brings back many thread memories of April 2023. Truly a dark day with 600+ employees being let go over a Zoom session. It would be hard to see that happen again, but they did over hire during covid lockdown and FLD did say that layoffs are a must to keep the lights on at F5. Gotta save that bottom line folks!
